Life in Bengaluru |
Bengaluru's Rhythm
On my ride through the busy street,Couples, parents, all I meet.
Buses full, faces tired,Lovers lost, in love inspired.
Old ones selling to survive,Transgender voices, staying alive.
Cars honk, engines roar,But flowers bloom beneath the floor,Amidst the dust, they stand and soar.
In the rush, life moves on,Every face tells a story, drawn.
Every morning, I ride my Xpulse through the bustling streets of Bengaluru. It’s a short distance, just 6 kilometers, but the journey takes nearly 30 minutes due to the infamous city traffic. Yet, in those 30 minutes, I witness countless stories unfolding around me, a reflection of the city’s heartbeat.
I see young couples on bikes or in cars, heading to work. They talk, laugh, or simply enjoy each other’s company, ignoring the chaos of the road. Parents hurry to drop their children at school, managing time between family and work.
At bus stops, people stand in long lines, waiting for BMTC buses that are already full. Their tired faces tell of daily struggles, yet they patiently wait. In the same crowd, young couples lost in love seem to forget everything around them, happy in their own little world.
Sometimes, I notice an elderly man and woman selling pens to make a living. They work hard, even at an age when they should rest. A transgender person walks through traffic, asking for money with confidence and hope, reminding me how strong people can be despite challenges.
The noise around me never stops. Drivers honk non-stop, even when it doesn’t help. Cars block narrow paths, slowing everyone else down. Above me, the metro train speeds by, its vibrations shaking the ground.
But what amazes me the most is the beauty that survives in this chaos. Under the metro pillars and along road dividers, flowers bloom. Despite the dust, pollution, and constant traffic, they grow strong and bright. They remind me that life can thrive even in the toughest conditions.
In these 6 kilometers, I see so many emotions, anger, frustration, love, and determination. Every face I pass has its own story. Bengaluru’s traffic may be exhausting, but it’s also full of life.
This short ride isn’t just a journey to work; it’s a chance to connect with the people and the city around me.
