My Journey to Delhi: A Solo Trip for Work and Exploration

Bengaluru to Delhi Soul travel

Traveling solo brings a mix of excitement and challenges, especially when the journey has both professional and personal significance. My recent trip from Bengaluru to Delhi was not just about travel but also about fulfilling an important work requirement, submitting my biometrics at the Sweden embassy. This experience, filled with unexpected hurdles and moments of self-reflection, turned into a memorable adventure.

The Journey Begins: From Bengaluru to Delhi

The day started early, as I prepared for my flight to Delhi. After a quick breakfast and my usual cup of tea at Channasandra Tea Day, I attempted to book a cab. However, multiple cancellations by drivers who wanted cash transactions instead of following the ride-hailing app’s rules delayed my departure. Finally, I found a driver willing to take the ride, mainly because he had another airport pickup.

The ride to the airport was mostly quiet, though the driver made small talk. He seemed like an introvert, trying hard to initiate a conversation, which I could relate to. The airport, as always, had a distinct energy. The self-check-in process was smooth, thanks to the DigiYatra app, which helped me skip long queues. After a quick security check, I recalled that my credit card might offer free lounge access, but unfortunately, it didn’t work. Instead, I waited at the boarding gate, observing the travelers around me, each lost in their own world.

Taking Off: The Experience of Flying

Boarding started, and we settled into the flight. The moment of takeoff always feels special, the speed run on the runway, the sudden lift-off, and the world below getting smaller. However, once in the sky, the view remained constant, blue sky, scattered clouds, and nothing more.

Midway through the flight, the cabin crew served snacks, but cold food isn’t my favorite, so I just had the juice. Around 20 minutes before landing, the captain announced the weather and other details, marking the beginning of the descent into Delhi.

Exploring Delhi: A City of Contrasts

Landing in Delhi felt different. New city, unfamiliar language, and a solo journey ahead. I followed signboards and passengers to the exit. Initially, I had planned to take the metro to my hotel, but a persistent taxi driver convinced me otherwise. The ride was overpriced, but he explained that the airport parking charge itself was high.

Upon reaching my hotel, Red Fox in Aerocity, the check-in process was smooth as the booking was already done. After some rest, I decided to visit India Gate in the evening.

Navigating Delhi’s public transport was an experience in itself. Google Maps suggested getting off at Shivaji Stadium Metro Station, but finding the correct bus stop was tricky. After some walking, I finally boarded a bus. The conductor was kind enough to give me change and even informed me when my stop arrived, a rare moment of helpfulness in an unfamiliar place.

Reaching India Gate was worth the effort. The place had its own charm, filled with tourists and locals enjoying the evening. I wandered around, taking pictures and capturing the beauty of a few flowers that caught my eye.

The Return Journey to the Hotel

The return journey wasn’t smooth either. Auto drivers insisted there were no buses to Shivaji Stadium Metro Station, forcing me to take an overpriced auto ride. Despite the unexpected detours, I enjoyed the night-time view of the city.

Back at the hotel, I called my friends and shared my experiences. They suggested more places to visit, but exhaustion had already taken over. I compiled my videos and pictures into an Instagram story, had dinner while watching Ibbani Karagitu, and later called my parents to recount my day.

As I was about to sleep, an unexpected call in the middle of the night led me to narrate my entire experience once again, ending the day on a nostalgic note.

A Silent Vow: A Journey of Love and Togetherness

Marriage is not just a ceremony; it’s a sacred promise to walk together through every season of life. More Than Just Being Together Marriage is often defined by traditions, expectations, and societal norms. But at its core, marriage is not just about being together, it’s about growing together. It’s a silent vow, a promise that needs no reminders, yet holds the strength to last a lifetime. Many ask, "What changes after marriage?" For me, the answer is simple: It’s not just about holding hands; it’s about never letting go. 1. Marriage Is More Than Just Presence True love isn’t about waiting for a call, it’s about making sure they never feel the need to call in the first place. My love for her has always been about being there, without being asked. Marriage is not just a ceremony, it’s a commitment. It’s not just words, it’s actions that never fade. It’s waking up every day and choosing each other. 2. Beyond Togetherness: The Journey of Growth We already share our lives, our co...

The Dark Side of Instagram: How Soft Porn Fuels a Dangerous Cycle

Social media algorithms act as unseen forces, carefully curating content to keep users engaged, even if it means feeding them an endless stream of addictive or harmful material. ⚠ Reader Discretion Advised: This article explores the impact of suggestive content and social media addiction. While it does not contain explicit material, it may be sensitive for younger audiences. 1. A Real-Life Crime Story On December 2024, Luigi Mangione, a 26-year-old from Pennsylvania, was arrested for the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan.  Before this, Luigi had shared deep fears about online pornography, social media, and video games ruining his life. He believed technology was enslaving people, leading him down a dark path of obsession and violent thoughts. This case is just one of many that highlight how social media’s unfiltered content, especially soft porn can influence minds and drive extreme behaviors. But what if I told you that this starts with something as simple...

In Shiva’s Hands, I Let Go – A Maha Shivaratri Reflection

Some things are beyond me, but never beyond Shiva. Tonight, I leave my hopes, doubts, and prayers in his hands. In surrender, I find peace. Har Har Mahadev. The Weight of What We Cannot Control There comes a time in life when we realize that no matter how hard we try, some things remain beyond our grasp. Love, destiny, relationships, and unanswered prayers, they all slip through our fingers like sand.  We hold on, we hope, we fight, yet sometimes, all we can do is surrender. Today, on the sacred night of Maha Shivaratri, I choose to do just that. Not just in tradition, but in spirit, I fast, I reflect, and I leave everything in Shiva’s hands. Why I Chose to Fast on Maha Shivaratri Many observe fasting today to honor Lord Shiva. Some seek blessings, some pray for love, success, or salvation. But my fast is different. It is not for wishes or rewards. It is my way of stepping back from everything I cannot control. I began my fast at 11:08 AM today, and it will end at 8:54 AM tomorrow....
